Smells like bacon

So for over a month now I have been feeling really quite sick. I am just exhausted all the time, and at least once a week I end up with my entire body aching to the point of wanting to cry it hurts that much. The only problem is that I'm not running a fever. My temperature normally runs about 97.4 or so, and it has been fluctuating mildly up to about 98.7 at most - which I guess could be considered a low-grade fever if you bump everything up a degree for normal people. But I doubt my doctors would really take that into consideration even if I told them. I hate doctors.

Anyway, my family went to see a play tonight, and it was literally all I could do to stay upright in my chair through it. I've been home about 10 minutes, and just took some sleeping pills. Hopefully that'll at least get me through the night with no pain. I mean, everything hurts. It's like the kind of full-body cramps you get with a really bad case of the flu - except as I say - no fever.

My aunt suggested it may be a secondary infection caused by the colitis, so Monday I'm going to call both my GI and my GP and see if I can get an appointment, and fast. I don't want to go to the emergency room, since I don't have the fever, but I will if this continues. It's getting pretty ridiculous.

Just something interesting...

Took this quiz, and got this result. All signs point to 'yes'.

You are striving for a life full of activity and experience and, perhaps even more, an environment where you would be able to forge a close bond with a person who can offer full emotional fulfilment.

You are looking for something different. Your imagination has been working overtime and you are seeking adventure - and you'd like to share that adventure, the new experience, with someone like yourself: Imaginative, Enthusiastic and Sensitive.

All the problems that you have been experiencing of late seem to have become a part of your life and there is little that can be done to change the situation. Your emotions run high - but even though you feel as if at times you are about to burst this situation will pass. Try to release your pent-up emotions by participating in some extra physical activities like running, swimming, whatever. There must be some favourite pastime, not necessarily strenuous, that can help you to relax.

It is said that we are all influenced by our environment and indeed you are no exception. It would seem at this time that even though you may be surrounded by people, you are experiencing an inner loneliness. Fortunately you are sufficiently strong minded to realise that life has a great deal to offer you and that you may miss your share of experiences if you fail to make the best use of every opportunity. You therefore pursue your objectives with a fierce intensity and are prepared to commit yourself deeply and readily. You believe that whatever you would like to do or think 'you can do' - you do! It is because of this attitude that you may be considered by others as arrogant and even conceited, but its fair to say that whatever it is that you really want out of life you will put your heart and soul into it and will not take 'NO' for an answer.

The fear that you may not be able to fulfil or realise all of your ambitions makes you work and play hard. The thought of being prevented from achieving the things you want leads you to play your part with frantic fervour.

Time to Post

So I realize I haven't been using this journal for much lately, so here's some news from the land of me:

I am now about to start my third Korean class! At first, I thought it was fairly easy, but don't be fooled by an alphabet you can learn in one hour, people! This language is a level 5 for a reason! And yet, I'm really loving it. <3 I can make some simple sentences without much thought, and even some slightly more complicated sentences with a lot of thought. I really need to focus on my oral comprehension though. If anyone but the teacher is speaking to me, I get lost. But that is what the focus of this next class will be about. It's actually pretty neat - we'll be meeting through SKYPE and just chatting for the class. So it'll be hardcore, but in a good way.

The weather around here is definitely taking a nose-dive towards winter. Either that or it is doing a good impression. In any case - BRR.

I have gotten to hang out with a fair number of friends I don't usually see much of, and that makes me happy.

I just removed about 7 rolls of blue fuzzy from myself. Note: Blue sweater from the GAP requires washing before wearing. Then, wash the jacket you wore over it, just to be safe.

Sini's Birthday

Went up to Elk Run Winery with Sini, Aneta and Aleta today. Two of SIni's friends joined us there as well. It's a very small winery, but super yummy! I tried all 15 wines on the tasting menu, and the best part was, it only cost $9, and I got to keep the glass! I highly recommend people check them out. They're cool people, and they aren't in it for the money. And well, it's delicious!

Then we went to Woodwinds for some super yummy vegetarian Indian. OMG heaven in food form. MORE PLEASE!
Quick rundown of events since I last posted:

- Promotion to GS-11! WOOHOO MORE MONEY! How am I ever going to leave my job now...?

- Mom managed to give herself an accidental overdose of a migraine medicine two weeks before Christmas. She got out of the hospital in time for Christmas, and there will be no lasting effects.

- She also has mild asthmatic bronchitis.

- I went on a cruise with my coworkers/friends and it was awesome. Mutiny on the Dawn and Dawn of the Dead! This deserves more information later. And photos.

- I got a cold day two of the cruise. I am never, ever flying with one again. I was waiting for the blood to pour out of my ears.

- I'm still having great fun chatting with my coworker. Even if everybody else insists it is a crush.

- It's snowing!

My Christmas Wish List

Yeah, it's a bit early, but just wanted to start this list as I thought of things.

-Heater for my desk at work

-Gift certificates for YesAsia (or I can make a list to expand for some specific things...)

-Hats, gloves and scarves. Yes, the multiple is on purpose. At the rate that I burn through these things (read: lose), I think I could supply a small country with winter wear.

-Pajamas. Warm, fuzzy or fleecy pajamas.

-A tripod for my Nikon. This for example, could serve quite well for travel purposes. (I would want the mid-size version). These are sold pretty much everywhere - Amazon and camera stores especially.

-Filters for my Nikon - 52mm Polarizing, UV or Fluorescent would be a good starting point, but as I have none, you can't go wrong.

-And lenses for my Nikon. Like this one - oh fisheye! (Note, make sure it is compatible with the Nikon D40 Digital SLR and I will be happy, no matter what it is.) (PPS: I have an 18-55mm lens, and a 55-200mm)

-A natural follow-on would be a class to learn how to use my camera. Money is eagerly accepted for these purposes.

And now I need to think more.

What was that?

Man. I woke up yesterday morning feeling okay, but by the time the afternoon rolled around, I just wanted to curl up into a ball somewhere warm.

I was hanging out with Kim and the Boys (Ha! New band!), doing the birthday dinner/presents thing Friday night. It was really fun! But yeah, I dunno what quite happened there. Right before I left, my temp had somehow dropped to 97.1, but by the time I got home, it was 99.5. In the 10 minutes it took me to get into bed, it had jumped to 100.1. My stomach was kinda cramping, and I was achy too. I fell asleep for about an hour or so, during which time my temp rose to 100.4, but then I took some Tylenol and it seemed to have done the trick. I tried to play some WoW, but my computer crapped out, and I decided maybe another nap was a good idea.

I'm feeling better this morning - temp is rising slightly, but hasn't broken 99.0 yet, so maybe it was just some weird 24-hour thing...? I sure hope it was! We were supposed to go to a haunted house thing yesterday evening (a group from work), but I sent a message to say I wasn't going to make it. However, since it was raining, they postponed it to tonight. Maybe I'll be well enough to make it...?

Trick or Treat, and a Cruise

Hey everybody! Leaving for my cruise in about half an hour or so. I think you can call me on my cell, without paying extra, but I cannot call you. No promises though! I'll not be leaving Miami until Sunday afternoon, so feel free to get in touch before then. I'll be back the 19th! Before I leave, here's a bit o' silly!

Marry me George?

me: Learn something new everyday. Like how hookers came from a Government contract during the Civil War.
George: Oh! So that's why they're still big with the Government today?
